Description Repairs and Maintenance of Alternators NO.86/12/2008-Ele THE ADMINISTRATION OF UNION TERRITORY OF LAKSHADWEEP (DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICITY) KAVARATTI – 682555 Dated 29 .03.2010 TENDER NOTICE The Executive Engineer ( Ele) , Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Kavaratti on behalf of President of India invites sealed Tenders from the authorized Rewinders/ Repairers of various types of Alternators of Lakshadweep Electricity Department till 1400 Hrs on 07.05. 2010. The tender documents can be had from the Office of the Assistant Engineer (Ele) , U.T.of.Lakshdweep, Kochi-682003, Kerala ( Phone 0484 2666611) on all Office working days up to 1200 hrs on 03.05.2010 on payment of Rs.1000/=( Non refundable). The tenders will be accepted up to 1500 hrs on 07.05.2010 and opened at 1530 hrs on the same day by the Assistant Engineer( Ele), U.T. of Lakshadweep, Willington Island, Kochi-3 at his Office in the presence of intending bidders if any present at the time of opening. Tender documents downloaded from the websites http://tenders.gov.in and http:// www.lakshadweep.gov.in are also valid . However ,Demand draft for Rs. 1000/( Non refundable) in favour of Assistant Engineer(Ele) Kochi payable at Syndicate Bank Kochi-3 should be enclosed with the Tender in the case of downloaded forms. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TENDER NOTICE F.NO.86/12/2008-Ele DATED 29.03.2010 FOR THE REPAIRS& MAINTENANCE OF ALTERNATORS 1. All covers containing Quotation shall be sealed and Clearly super scribed “TENDER FOR THE REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE OF ALTERNATORS” and all such covers addressed to Assistant Engineer (Ele), UT. Of Lakshadweep, Willington Island, Kochi-682 003 shall be posted well in advance or submit in person so as to reach the destination within the date and time prescribed. Quotation received after the said date and time will be rejected forthwith. 2. All types of Alternators available with the department for which repairs are to be carried out and parts to be supplied are given in the “SCHEDULE A&B “ However repairs/supply are to be carried out according to the requirement only and for which separate work order will be issued by the Assistant Engineer(Ele) Kochi. 3. The tenderer should furnish a certificate from the manufactures so as to prove that they are the authorized re -winder of the manufacturer. 4. The tenderer may indicate specifically the maximum time required for rewinding of each type of Alternator in the list and should strictly adhered to. 5. The rate quoted by the tenderers shall be exclusive of sales tax and service tax and the tax applicable at the time of submission of quotation are to be shown separately. However the tax applicable at the time of billing will be paid extra. 6. The cost of salvage may be taken in to consideration while quoting the rate. The contractor can take the salvage. 7. The rate quoted as specified in “Schedule A&B” shall be for a minimum period of Two Years from the date of awarding the work. No additional payment will be made for hike in cost of materials and labour charge after the finalization of quotation. Hence the bidders shall foresee the hike in cost of materials and labour charge before quoting the rate. 8. In case the tenderer become unable to under take the works due to any reason the work order will be cancelled. The repairs of the items as per the work order so cancelled will be arranged by the department at the risk cost and the liability of the tenderer in addition to the forfeiture of the EMD collected from the tenderer. 9. Earnest money of Rs.20, 000/- (Rupees twenty thousand) only is to be deposited along with the offer by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Assistant Engineer (Ele), Union Territory of Lakshadweep, Indira Gandhi Road, Willingdon Island-Kochi- 682003 payable at Syndicate Bank Koci-3. The offers without Earnest money deposit are liable to be rejected. EMD in any form other than specified above will not be accepted under any circumstances. The tenders with insufficient information will also be rejected. 10. The work shall be guaranteed for a minimum period of SIX MONTHS against Inferior quality of materials, bad workmanship or any other defect. If any defect occurs during the guarantee period, such defect shall be rectified by the contractor on free of cost at respective islands. 11. The EMD of the unsuccessful tenderer will be refunded immediately on finalization of tenders. 12. The insulation materials used for rewinding works shall be of class F&H or as specified by the manufactures of each Alternator. 13. The rates once approved will be final and valid for two years and request for enhancement of rates will not be entertained, under any circumstances. 14. Powers are rested on Executive Engineer (Ele), U.T.of Lakshadweep to extend the period of contract by another six months at the existing rates on the same terms and conditions if comes necessary. 15. The successful tenderer shall remitt an amount of Rs.50000/=(Rupees Fifty Thousand) only as security deposite in addition to the EMD of Rs. 20000/= by way of DD drawn in favour of the Assistant Engineer (Ele) , U.T.of Lakshadweep , Willington Island, Kochi-3 encashable at Syndicate Bank branch Kochi-3. 16. The quotation shall be neatly typed and free from all errors. 17. The tenderers shall sign the tender at the place provided in the tender form including terms and conditions affixing his office seal and date, otherwise the tender is liable to be rejected. 18. Usually the Alternators requires rewinding shall be delivered at the premises of the tenderer at Kochi area. However out station tenders should arrange the transportation of Alternators/Alternator accessories from our Godown to their workshop and back for which extra payment will not be paid. The rewinding/Repair of any Alternator is required to be carried out at Lakshadweep Islands due to any reasons; the tenderer shall undertake the work at the islands by deputing sufficient skilled personals to the islands concerned with all the necessary materials/tools etc. required for the works. In such cases, the tenderer may be in touch with the Assistant Engineer (Ele), Kochi for ascertaining the ship programme, entry permit and arranging passage etc. to the islands. The tenderer may quote the minimum additional daily charges per technician for such works in islands. The department will not arrange any accommodation in the islands. However the department shall reimburse the actual to and fro ship fare limited to 2nd class cabin fare. The paint and the primer being used must be either Shalimar/Asian paints/Nerolac or Berger. NOTE:-. 1. Daily charges will be paid to maximum of two technicians only. 2. No other conveyance or transportation charges will be paid extra other than Actual conveyance faire from Kochi to Island and back. 3. Daily charges will be calculated from the date of departure from mainland till the date of arrival at mainland ( inclusive of either date of departure or date of arrival).
